Be here, be here
With dew drenched grass,
Long shadows on pavement,
Sun shining in my eyes,
A premonition of the day's heat.
Outside chirps sound, toads and birds,
And motors reve below
As they make a Monday morning
And yet, I drift to planes unknown
Lost in stories I’ve created
Of righteousness and deadly foes
Of wisdom from false teachers
I drift in oceans, castles, the woods,
Until there is a moment,
A bark, a bell, the alarm sounds.
Be here, be here once more
I repeat my refrain
Though that does little to enforce it.
